Moving on

I thought I should let you all know that I am seriously considering giving up on Second Life all together.
I have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the place, and as the summer gets nearer and the days get longer, I feel the need to spend my free time outside rather than on the computer.
I have been feeling stressed at the idea of coming inworld, and a lot of the fun seems to have gone. I have enough worry in my real life without adding to it with my second life.
There are other reasons of course, and many things and people will be sad to say goodbye to, and part of me feels gut-wrenchingly sad at the thought of leaving, but I thought you should all know how I am thinking at the moment.
Still thinking it through though.

awww... I can understand how you feel - but we still have not had the chance to get together much... perhaps you need to wander Faeria for a bit and let it smile on you. :)

I can definately understand how you feel. Perhaps it is time you take a break from your duties in Triskele.

But there is a lot of fun in second life. You need not leave it completely.

Do keep in mind that we are in the process of revamping the role-play rules so that many of the problems we have had in the past will no longer happen.

One thing you might want to consider is finding yourself a second. Perhaps you know of a particularly trustworthy or eager journeyman in your guild to give some work too?

That is what i am doing with the dragons, finding those players who are most interested in helping who are around more often than not.

There are many players out there who are eager to help. All you need do is let them know what they can do.

This is the way it works, ideally you would have already chosen the second and slowly have been giving them more and more of your work until all you are doing is standing back and advising. Then when you are ready to move on, promote them. That way you have a fully trained replacement when you are ready to move on.

I also wanted to let you know, aside from missing your leadership and creativity in the clerics guild that i would really, really hate to see you leave. I enjoy our friendship, the discussions we have and very much value your friendship.

Summer is wonderful and i do understand your wanting to appreciate it fully, especially in your part of the world. I also understand being overwhelmed by the things going on in our realm. So if you do leave, i would hope that we can still keep in touch.

I agree with all Malakyte said... and would like to talk with you about it more. It's good to think things through, but also valuable to talk things through... ;-)
